Catapult Thinking was recently commissioned by Fishman, the recognized brand of choice in acoustic amplification solutions, to design a new packaging system for a range of the company's products.

Catapult Thinking developed the packaging system for two distinct areas in retail spaces. The first design outfitted the packaging with a smart labeling system oriented to music professionals such as luthiers and contract installers. The second system, designed to hang on a slot wall or stand in a display case, made the products more retail-friendly than previous packaging, and easier for music consumers to shop. Both designs achieved maximum efficiency, reducing the amount of packaging materials and implementing a new labeling and information system, a new icon language and a new color palette.

The new packaging design was launched at the 2006 Winter NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants), the Music Industry's premier conference, to great success and dealer enthusiasm. "The response has been nothing but fantastic," says David Fournier, Product Manager, Fishman Transducers. "We've adopted the look for much of the company's marketing materials. And, incidentally, our box suppliers have all been very excited about the look—several have mentioned that they would like to enter the cartons into their industry packaging award magazines."

Catapult Thinking and Fishman Transducers have a history of working together on innovative products, such as the Loudbox® amplifier and the Aura® acoustic guitar pedal. The collaboration on these products has resulted in increased product sales and music industry awards.
